Need to write

I need to write a blog post I need to write a white paper
I need to write a book I need to give it a shot
Instead I find myself needless ruminating
I wanted to write a poem so I gave it all I got
My words are erratic, better ones you would have seen
I apologize in advance for the mundane nature of my thought
So far so good drifting always lazily meandering
Too much science too little art this day has brought

The world rewards app writers
writers of poems count for naught
Too many apps too many distractions
Too little happiness or pleasure they are fraught

I needed to get work done I ended up getting a beer
Late on the project on hindsight cost me dear
still I survive with the daily love I sought
I needed to write a poem and thats all I have got

Cafe Mondegar Poem

Deep in streets of a maximum city
A not so big cafe near to the sea
Serving cold beer and hot food
Music while I quaff on life deeply

Fueling us while we take a break
Rat races in the corporate life
A place to unwind, pause, rewind
Forget conflict and daily strife

Bankers, poets, tourists and geeks
Gather together to quaff at this  watering hole
Red clad waiters hurry to take stock
Nourishing parched and dry souls

Wait till the beer hits you smooth
Long forgotten melodies make you sway
with Music on the coined juke box and Cartoons on the wall
Cafe Mondegar rules them all
