2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 160,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 8 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Bagel Cafe

Sipping Tea in the Bagel Cafe
I am a regular and they all know me here
I prefer tea camomile and occasionally rum balls
I write , I surf the free wi-fi and I pretty people-watch

Bagel Cafe, cafe on the corner
of the last lane before you enter
the monument of Hauz Khas Village
Bathed in yellow light at night

A warm place, a delight in weather cold
A friendly place , a classy place for friends to take
I come in here for inspiration and nice conversation
But dont judge the Bagel Cafe by the quality of this poem alone

Come by, and sit for a while
Delhi, India is calling
Where are you
Beautiful Strangers

Holidays Blues

Sitting in a cafe that used to be nice
Invaded by high school kids who refuse to be wise
Tea gone cold poet getting old
Refuses to talk the pretty women to his right

Today is not the day to start the heartbreak
It is the day after Christmas when little kids rejoice
And old hearts gather besides the fire
Pondering on lost lovers and high hopes of newer desires

For Santa only gives to children young
And aging hearts have to be content with none
The day after Christmas the week before New Years Eve
Reminiscence Rejoicement Remembrance Relived

And then he shot me

I was a child of years six
Loved my mom and gave her a kiss
Went to school was playing with my friend
When someone came in

And then he shot me

I was an immigrant long ago
Settled in America for my dream
Worshiping in my temple
When I heard some noise

And then he shot me

I was all of twenty eight
Full of joy and happy as could be
Went to see the latest Batman movie
I heard something like a noise

And then he shot me

Who was he?
A well regulated militia man
Defending my constitution
By shooting me
