Celebrating Mediocrity

fragments of poetry float in my brain

while I in sleep nod and say

that line was good I must write it down

when I wake up I feel I am temporarily insane

till a hot shower pours on my back and cools me

my blood stops pounding heart rate hits the ground

memories I cant leave behind nor cope with

mistakes that I wont forgive myself for nor wont repent for

echoes in my head except when I turn there is no sound

I celebrate my mediocrity with quiet irony

while all around genius is applauded with aplomb

the mulberry bush is square but we get around
