In Death

In death we are all equal
The prince and the pauper and the billionaire
The gregarious extrovert who speaks no more
The reclusive introvert who will be shy no more

In life we were all unequal
Some were pretty and many were proud
Some chased the money and many thought they got
Now in death they are all equal

In between birth and death lies life
Shall we spend it all chasing things we cant spend in the end
Shall we waste it all chasing our impulses
Leaving no legacy no memory behind

Like a fire that burnt brightly
And left smoke when it died
And left nothing after time had passed
In death we remember what we forgot in life
